NHTSA Would Collect Crash Reports From Autonomous Vehicles 2021

Earlier the car companies were not deemed to report to the world-famous NHTSA for autonomous driving and driving assisted technologies for the times the vehicles not presenting as advertised, but now the companies are bound to do that. Companies like Ford, Volkswagen are more alert now.

The move by NHTSA comes about the most recent update and now onwards the car companies, for at least next three years, to any of the fleets of 100 companies working with the ‘Autonomous Driving’ and ‘Driver Assisted Technologies’ would now have to report to NHTSA for the minor scrape crashes. 

The move by NHTSA would not only make the car companies more alert and accentuated but these companies would also report to NHTSA even if they have zero crash reports. 

NHTSA would soon make this thing more public but the other confidential and legitimate information are still under their control. 

Car companies could not hide their crash reports
Car companies need to procure a total of 3 categories of the vehicle information
Car companies would now have to report for the kind of crash the vehicle is involved with
NHTSA plans to initiate crash data collection 
Car companies are deemed to follow this crash data test and also the 10 days follow up post the event
NHTSA’s move is in effect for the upcoming three years
